Current Alerts: 

30/7/2021 @ 1:30: The strike called by the Argentine Port Stevedores Federation has been deactivated – for the time being – after holding up conversations with the Ministry of Labour. On 3 Aug the Union and the Authorities will meet.

Previous Alerts:

28/7/2021 @ 11:30: The Argentine Port Stevedores Federation has called for a 48-hour strike as of 30th July 2021 due to a conflict held by the Union at Entre Rios province. The measure coud potentially affect the opeartions at Rosario port complex, Bahia Blanca and Necochea.

17/6/2021 @ 14:30. Various port-related Unions (ie. stevedores, linesmen, boat skippers, amongst others) called for a 24-h strike at SAN LORENZO port as of 18/6 00:00 . Strike would interrupt operations in San Lorenzo port. 

5/6/2021 @ 12:00. On a similar claim as the one pursued by the Seamen Unions requesting priority to get vaccinated, the CUSTOMS HOUSE EMPLOYEES UNION has announed a National Strike for 8/6/2021 from 10:00 to 17:00. It is expected that all opertions requiring Customs intervention will be affected / suspended (such as loading / discharging, Customs clearence, etcetera).

26/5/2021 @ 23:30. The Authorities have come to an agreement with the Seamen Unions and the strike has been lifted as of 26/5 at 20:15.

26/5/2021 @ 00:00 LT. As announced, the Seamen Unions strike commenced on 26/5/2021 at 00:00, for a period of 48h, would be lifted on 28/5/2021 at 00:00.  The strike will affect ships’ operations in all Argentinean ports, such as berthing/unberthing, bunkering, towage, amongst others. The actions are taken within their claim to the Authorities to be vaccinated against Covid19 with priority. 

21/5/2021 @ 10:00 LT. Seamen Unions strike was lifted 20/5/2021 at 18:00; Grain Receivers Union (Urgara) strike was lifted 21/5/2021 at 06:00. Seamen Union announced new 48h strike as of 26/5/21 at 00:00

20/5/2021 @ 10:30 LT. Several Seamen Unions held a meeting with the Authorities on 19/5 at 19:00 without reaching an agreement. The Unions announced new 48h strike as of 26/5/21 at 00:00

19/5/2021 @ 16:00 LT. Sudden strike called by URGARA (Grain Receivers) as of 20/5 06:00 San Lorenzo/Rosario; and 06:00, affecting grain terminals.

19/5/2021 @ 10:30 LT. Several Seamen Unions called for a sudden strike as of 18May2021 18:00 for 48 hours affecting ships’ operations in all Argentinean ports, such as berthing/unberthing, bunkering, towage, amongst others.

UPDATE: Circular 35/2020: LYMANTRIA DISPAR PLAGUE (GYPSY MOTH)

Circular 035/2020 on the “Gypsy Moth” regulation in Argentina has been updated to reflect the Resolution 533/2022 SENASA which modified slightly the flying periods that shall be considered for certification purposes. These changes have been identified in red in the translation of Annex II enclosed. We have also updated the financial exposure for fines at current ROE.

On 20th March 2023 the Argentine Coast Guards – Delta Zone issued a new Disposition (DISFC-2023-254-APN-PZDE#PNA) establishing new speed limits between Kms. 181 and 205 of the Pasaje Talavera branch of the Parana River. According to the disposition, as of 21st March 2023, the maximum speed for vessels sailing upriver is 9.5 knots; and downriver 10 knots (SOG) with an allowance of 5% in both cases – except between Kms. 183 ~ 186 where the vessels shall sail at their minimum speed compatible with good steering only.
